Voluntary Transport

The Voluntary Transport Scheme provides friendly, helpful volunteer drivers who use their own cars to offer transport to those in need.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: – due to unprecedented demand we are currently concentrating our voluntary transport journeys on getting people to medical appointments only.

Eligibility –

You are only eligible if:

• You live within the Staffordshire Moorlands And

• You have no other transport available And

• You are unable to use public transport And

You must be able to get yourself in and out of a car without assistance

Please note: this is not a taxi service

Availability

Every effort is made to provide a service, but due to volunteer availability we cannot guarantee a journey.

Please give us as much notice as possible – ideally (a minimum of) 1 week.

Cost

You will be required to pay towards the cost of the service, this is based on the number of miles that you travel.

Current charges are:

4- 4.9 miles	£6.10	15 – 15.9 miles	£12.40

7 – 7.9 miles	£7.70	18 – 18.9 miles	£14.50
8 – 8.9 miles	£8.00	19 – 19.9 miles	£15.00
9 – 9.9 miles	£8.60	20 – 24.9 miles	£17.70
10 – 10.9 miles	£8.90	25 – 29.9 miles	£19.90
11 – 11.9 miles	£9.50	30 – 34.9 miles	£22.60
12 – 12.9 miles	£9.90	35 – 40 miles	£25.80
